Ageing cannot be reversed. But ageing is ripening which drives the soul to inner beauty. Let us see the ageing woman in the video of the poem, ‘Ageing Beauty’.
AGEING BEAUTY
At the look of Cupid, she staggers, Has forgotten the youthful swagger, Pouring liquids of youth on grey hair, She gives crestfallen age a new care, The soft steady glow of her twinkles, Is now shriveled, sunken wrinkles, Erased by smooth skin creams, A bitter soul in reality screams For the sliding youth which topped, Now in actuality has been cropped, Glossy eyes in frustration drenched, Not realized what the youth meant, Fashion and glamour in its swell, Forgotten glowing youth as well, Climbing the stairs of biological age, Showering maturity at this stage, Beauty of mind in a greying cage, With no false notions in her spun, She hits the baseball for home run.
Thank you for listening. Would like to have your comments. I come again with another poem from ‘Serenading Poems Part Two’. Till then, goodbye!
